Sixth Sense Cafe includes a complete custom label making program. Make labels for envelopes and folders. Create any label any size up to 8.5” x 11”, and adjust it to fit any manufacturer’s labels or model of printer. Use from our selection of pre-formatted labels or make your own. New shelf tags can be printed automatically when new items are created or altered and you can include barcodes on your shelf tags to make counting inventory with a portable data collector even easier. Sixth Sense automatically takes an item’s information from it’s inventory record for use in making a new label, saving you from duplicating that info to a whole new label making program.
Custom Reports
Sales reports are the maps to your business records. They allow you to locate vital information, analyze sales records, and improve your business. Sixth Sense Cafe includes a variety to the most pertinent and fundamental reports for running your business. Using gift cards and a system for awarding patrons for frequent visits to your establishment draws repeat business. Give customers a sense of belonging by awarding them for purchasing or attract new customers with gift cards from current patrons. Sixth Sense Cafe can allocate points based on the dollar amount spent at a sale or by preset amounts linked to the sale of a specific item. Departments...
Simply putting items into a single vast inventory isn’t enough for most business. Sixth Sense Cafe allows you to designate inventory items by Department, Category, and Family allowing you to organize your inventory in multiple ways. This means you can create reports and track movement on items and sections in many different ways for improved analysis. The number of Departments, Categories and Families are limitless so you can be as specific or vague as you need.
End Of Day
This function is used at the end of each business day. Sixth Sense assembles all the necessary figures and completes calculations necessary to organize your sales data.
This is not a save function, Sixth Sense Cafe prevents the loss of data during a sudden power failure or other emergency by saving data during routine operation every ten minutes.
Foreign Exchange
Exchange foreign currency easily and automatically based on rates entered into system preferences. Perfect for businesses with high tourist traffic.
Manual
The Sixth Sense Cafe manual was written with the same goal in mind as the software. Be as easy and quick to use as possible, so that people can accomplish their goals with the least amount of trouble. You will find that extensive use of actual screen photos and direct language makes the manual a ready reference or learning tool, even for the computer and point of sale novice.
Memos
Sixth Sense Cafe gives managers the ability to reach out to all its employees via the Memo feature. A memo will appear to any user who signs into Sixth Sense Cafe to ensure everyone gets the message, whether it concerns an upcoming meeting or the annual golf tournament. The Memo is available at any time from the main menu screen.
Override Price
Have a special customer or want to sell an item for a sale price that ended yesterday? Supervisors and managers can override prices with password verification for security.
Profit
Profit probably the single most important figure in your business. Sixth Sense Cafe uses your sales reports and the always current value of inventory to automatically calculate your profit. View gross profit for any period you choose, whether it be a week, a year, or twelve days.
Receipts
Use Sixth Sense Cafe to give receipts using a receipt printer or print them off in 1/2 and full page formats. Include your name, address and logo or Sixth Sense Software can custom format a receipt for use with your pre-printed invoices. You can customize receipts to include a personal message such as “Happy Holidays” or remind them of an upcoming sale.
Retail Prices
Sixth Sense Cafe gives you the option of selling items in various ways. Prices can include tax and deposit per item, or you can have them added at the end of a sale for all items in that sale, or a combination of either.
Sixth Sense Cafe automatically tracks the application of taxes and deposit and these can be reported to the customer or stored for your own use.
Screen Displays
Many reports are displayed so that a long list of items and information is presented. In Sixth Sense Cafe you can double click any record and a full screen display of that record will appear. The display will include all the data information available for that item.
Likewise, you can do the same with sales records. When you display all the sales records for a given day, double clicking on one will bring up the actual cash register screen as it was used during the sale, with all the sale information entered in it.
Taxes
During sales, Sixth Sense Cafe lets you use up to three different taxes at the same time. Apply federal, state/provincial and/or municipal sales taxes, Sixth Sense Cafe will automatically calculate and store information on each tax. Each are shown at the bottom of the customer's receipt.
Training
When training new users, you can set Sixth Sense Cafe into training mode, so that they may practice making sales. By using training mode you can operate normally but your data records will not be affected by false data.
Tables
Servers using Sixth Sense Café will find it easy and quick to use. Large buttons, simple fields, and all their information displayed right in front of them.

Then bring up the check screen, which is the main working area for the servers. From this screen a server may start the guest’s order, send the order to the kitchen and/or bar, print the guest’s check and receive payment.:

Take Order
The Take Order button will enter the menu items onto the check. If you are just starting a check you will be asked to enter the number of guests at the table with the screen below.

Next you will enter the guest’s ID for the first order to be entered with the following screen.

After entering the guest ID you will start entering the order using the menu screens. The Beverages screen is shown below, and other similar screens hold the rest of the menu. Each button will be occupied by an item from your menu. A guest’s order is displayed in the bottom left corner.

There are lists in Sixth Sense Café for temperature, starches, salad dressings, mix and upscale. These automatically pop up when ordering certain menu items. If you choose an item which requires additional information, such as a steak, a screen will automatically pop up so that you may enter additional information on the item. The kitchen would need to know how well to cook a steak, temperature list, or what salad dressing should be included with the salad, or what starch item will accompany the meat
Drink Add On and Menu Modifiers lists are used if you wanted to add information on what not to include, such as ‘No Onions’.
You can also add notes to orders to include messages to the kitchen or bar that are not entered into Sixth Sense Cafe's list of modifiers.
Transfer Table
Transfer servers to different tables, tables to different servers or both.

Customer Accounts
Customer accounts are used in the following ways:
Any amounts charged to a customer are done automatically during a sale. When a customer's account number is entered into the payment screen, a note which is attached to their account is then displayed, allowing you to control whether to accept a cheque, to collect on an overdue payment before allowing further charges, or for entering any other information you wish the note to display.
Bonus points (if used) are automatically credited or debited (refunds) to the customer's account during a sale.
Discounts
You have two types of discounts that can be given from the check screen. You can apply these discounts to just one guest at the table or the entire check.

First, a general discount can be given on all of the items in a sale, up to the point the discount is made. Just enter a discount (in percentage) that will be applied to the total sale up to that point.
Discounts can also be applied to a specific customer account. Any time that customer makes a purchase, a discount will be applied.
Training Mode
The Training Mode button allows sales to be made strictly for practice, so that your data file remains unaffected. When you are in Training Mode all procedures operate normally but there are no permanent changes made to your inventory data file or customer’s files. Any receipts or chits printed in this mode will be identical to those done in regular mode but will have the words ‘Training Mode’ printed on them.
Customer Accounts
The following screen is used when receiving payment on account:

We have divided customer accounts into two divisions, Corporate accounts and Personal accounts. The two divisions have different types of data included in customer information. For example, a personal account will record birthdays, marriage status and other personal data. Corporate accounts will not need to keep this type of data but they may need to keep a legal name and a doing business as name. Also corporate accounts often have a different ship to address from their mailing address. With both types of accounts all sales data is automatically displayed for each customer when their account is displayed on screen.

Accounts Receivable
At any time you can get a report on any or all of your corporate or personal accounts receivables. The report shows dated balances, customer information and totals.

Charging to...
Any amounts charged to, or paid on, a customer's account during a sale are automatically added to or subtracted from the customer's balance owing and are displayed with the customer's file.
Ccorporate Accounts
Each corporate record contains the legal name and the doing business as name of the customer. The names, or personal account numbers, of up to three of the owners is kept. The full billing and ship to addresses as well as the phone and fax numbers, email and internet addresses for the company are recorded.
There are fields for entering a permanent discount for all sales made by the customer, or a cost plus percentage and the customer's terms, credit limit and tax number. You can also attach a note to the customer's file which will be displayed in the cash register screen after entering the customer's account number.
Personal Accounts
Sixth Sense Cafe can keep a large amount of detailed information for each of your Personal customers, allowing you to serve them better. Data such as name, address, phone, birthday, employment and banking information, and marital status are kept on every customer. You can also show a discount, in percent, that the customer may receive during a sale.
You can attach a note to the customer's file which will be displayed on the cash register screen during a sale after the customer's account number has been entered. All sales records for a customer are displayed automatically when a customer's file is brought up on screen, and are sortable in any manner you wish.
Importing/Exporting
Any or all of the information contained in Corporate or Personal accounts can be exported to another program or the information imported from other programs. The data can be in the SYLK, DBF or text format for importing or exporting.
Labels
Create labels for any customer, for use when mailing, creating file folders, or any other use.
Statements
With Sixth Sense Cafe, you can automatically generate statement accounts which are then sent to customers. Interest is automatically calculated on charges past due, and this is added to the total balance. Balances are itemized for each purchase, credit, interest or payment on account so that you receive a detailed picture of an account. Statements feature a portion which may be cut off by the customer and returned with payment. The returnable portion shows the balance owing, due date, customer’s name and address, account number, and a space for the customer to indicate the amount being remitted.
Inventory

Sixth Sense Cafe allows you to associate more than 120 pieces of information with every item in inventory. This means that the more information you attach to an item, the more information can be generated with sales reports, and more information is available to you.
The Department, Category, and Family designations are shown. Case and unit costs are displayed with the regular retail and the profit margin you have entered. Or you can enter the cost and retail price so that the profit margin will be calculated automatically.

Decide where you want this item to be printed when an order is made and which items are deducted from inventory when the item is purchased.

You can view the item’s: sales by day, week and month, its receiving history, store location, sale prices, dates for automatically putting that item on sale, two period tracking dates, the entire sales history of the item, and more.
View the quantity and dollar amounts for sales of this item for the previous 12 months as well as this month’s amounts. The quarterly and half year totals are shown and the totals for the previous year. You can graph these numbers by pressing on one of the graph buttons. To print the display, click on the Print button.
Adjustments
Sometimes you have to make an adjustment to an inventory record due to breakage, theft or other reasons. Sixth Sense lets you easily alter inventory counts so that you can keep an up to date inventory value, and therefore the correct report on your gross profit. Adjustments include a record of who made the adjustment and why.

Apply Formula
Sometimes a supplier will change their name, or you otherwise need to alter a broad range of items. Sixth Sense Cafe allows you to create formulas for easily altering all the items you need to in a single batch, rather than individually. Change prices, margins, departments, or any other data field with the click of a button.
Automatic Sale...
You can automatically have items go on sale and then automatically return to the pre-sale prices. Just select a start and end date for the sale and the sale price or margin in the item's file and Sixth Sense Cafe will automatically lower the price at the sale start date and then automatically raise it at the end of the sale. This means not having to change each item on the start and finish dates, and prevents items being sold at sale prices inadvertently when the sale is not yet or no longer on.
Custom Descriptors
Sometimes you need custom fields for designating an item other than size. Create any field you want color, style, model number, etc. to suit your own business needs.

Duplicating Records
Create new items quickly and easily. If you have items that are very similar except maybe for size or color and you don't want to enter all the same information over again in a new record, Sixth Sense Cafe allows you to copy all the data from one record and paste it into another. Then all you have to do is change what you need and the PLU Number (barcode number).
Graphs
Visually alter the display of data by using easy to understand graphs. Graphs in the inventory menu show the quantity and dollar amounts of sales for any item or group of items in inventory. Graph sales reports for a different look or for professional presentation.
Importing/Exporting
Sixth Sense Cafe can import or export any data you need. Whether it be your inventory records from a previous point of sale program or the data your accountant is requesting.
Any part of or all of your inventory data can be exported for use in another program. You can also import data from other programs or databases. Sixth Sense Cafe will import and export using text, SYLK or DBF files.
While you can import and export data yourself, when switching to Sixth Sense Cafe, Sixth Sense Software will take your old inventory data file and import it to the new data file, free of charge.

Minimum Levels
Minimum levels can be set by you or Sixth Sense Cafe can determine what minimum levels should be automatically based on its analysis of your sales records. When in store quantity of an item falls below minimum levels, Sixth Sense Cafe will reorder the item automatically. The minimum levels report shows the existing levels and what Sixth Sense Cafe believes they should be.
Movement Reports
It is vital that you know which of your products are your best and worst sellers. This way you can determine which items should get more floor space, which more advertising time, and which should be dumped because they’re just collecting dust.
With Sixth Sense Cafe you can display all your top sellers and bottom sellers, or a comparison report showing the movement of all your items in inventory.
Ordering New Stock
With Sixth Sense Cafe, ordering inventory has never been simpler. Have Sixth Sense Cafe place an order automatically based on supplier, department/category, and suggest a new order number. Orders are calculated on the minimum levels set manually by you or by the minimum levels set automatically by Sixth Sense Cafe based on its analysis of your sales records.
Make manual orders by simply entering the PLU or name of an item you wish to include. While making an order, check an item’s sales history, and make special orders for customers which records a deposit left in trust by the customer.

Item Print Outs
You can print out a price report for any of your items which will show the item name, size, PLU number (bar code number) and current selling price. Use this report at the till for quick reference, for items without barcodes, or give the list out to customers.
Any or all items in inventory can be printed. You can also print out a report showing the entire data on any items in inventory. This report prints all the data stored in each item's file.
Profit on Items
Gross profit is calculated and stored in each item’s file. With this you are able to determine the most profitable items in your business. Create a report to view your most or least profitable items and react accordingly.
Receiving History
Each item's file contains every receiving record for that item which is used to calculate that item’s value in inventory. You can see the quantity in store of the item, the value, average cost, and the relevant receiving records used to determine those figures.
Sales Data
View a chart of an item’s sales data right from the item’s record in inventory. See sales by quantity and dollar amount for each month of the year, quarterly periods, half and full year totals. Compare the data with previous years, and display in bar graph form by simply pressing a button.
Sales History
View any sale you ever made. Every sales record associated with an item is displayed in the item’s file. You can call up any of these records and see the cash register screen as it was during the sale. These records can then be sorted in any manner you wish and reprinted.
Searching and Sorting
Sixth Sense Cafe has powerful searching and sorting capabilities which allow you to search for any item or selection of items in inventory. You can search and sort using any of the data fields in the items file. You can even search for partial data as in 'search names that contain the word box or letters xyz'. You can search for items that have been sold in the past week or items that belong to a certain department, category or family. There is no limit to the ability to select items from inventory and sort those items in a meaningful manner for your use.
Value of Inventory
The value of your inventory is an important figure, and Sixth Sense Cafe knows that, so inventory records are always kept current and accurate. At any time you can get a figure for the value of your total inventory or any selection of items in inventory. The report will show you the value with and without tax and deposit. You can select all items or items in any distinction such as department, category, or your own custom created fields. The value of your inventory, along with any other figures in Sixth Sense Cafe can be exported to an accounting program or printed out for your accountant’s use.
Sales Reports

Sixth Sense has a myriad of sales reports for you to choose from. However, you also have the ability to create your own custom report on virtually any aspect of your business. These sales reports are a critical link between you and Sixth Sense Cafe, which allow you to improve and strengthen your business.
Top Sellers / Bottom Sellers
Sixth Sense Cafe will display for you all your best selling items and your worst selling items. Use this report to replace items, give more or less floor space to others, or notify you which would benefit from a price change.
Custom Report
As with inventory, till balances, suppliers and customers you can also generate custom reports with the sales records. Almost any report imaginable can be done with the custom report generator.
For example, you could report on how many items were sold between the hours of two and three on Wednesdays for the past twelve weeks. Every business has specific needs, and you can use Sixth Sense Cafe’s versatility to satisfy all your requirements.
Daily Sales
Sixth Sense Cafe makes it easy to quickly view pertinent information on a day’s activities. With the click of a button, see Today's Sales and any Previous Day's Sales. The screen display of each report will show you the gross sales, tax amount and net sales for the day. The ten different types of tender are shown with the amount and percentage of total sales each tender represents. Any amounts paid out or received on account are shown as well as any refunds and discounts.

View the number of customers, average sale per customer, number of items sold and average item price are shown. When you print the sales report all of the above information is printed as well as the starting and ending value of your inventory, the amount for receiving of new inventory and the gross profit and margin for the day.
Monthly Sales Totals...
This displays the quantity and dollar amounts of sales for each of the previous twelve months of the items selected from your inventory. The quantity and dollar amounts for all the items selected will then be added for each month and displayed in a layout shown below.

Daily Sales Summary
This report shows a list of each day’s total sales as well as the tax amount, net sales, type of tender and amount, and the other information collected for sales reports. Compare and contrast figures to analyze daily activity.
Dept., Category and Family
The sales by department, category and family report will break down your sales based on departments, categories and families. The dollar amount and quantity are shown for each department, category and family. The percentage of the total dollar and quantity amounts are also shown for each department, category and family.
You view reports just by department, with totals, or you can view the departments, cross indexed with categories, then cross indexed with families. Choose reports for any month, period A or B, or previous week.
Export Sales
You can export any or all of the information in the sales records to a text, SYLK or DBF file for use in any other program. For security reasons only the owner can export sales records.
Graphs
There are twelve graph reports pre-programmed in the sales reports portion of Sixth Sense Cafe so that you can view important data in refreshing visual formats. The graphs are for: customer count by day, customer count by week, customer count by month, quantity sold by day, quantity sold by week, quantity sold by month, gross sales by day, gross sales by week, gross sales by month, net sales by day, net sales by week and net sales by month. You choose the starting and ending dates for the report.
Hour Reports
Sixth Sense Cafe lets you break down your sales records to the point where you can view an hourly report on the amount of sales, number of items sold and number of customers for each hour of a day or days chosen by you. You enter the starting and ending dates for the report and choose which day of the week or all days of the week for the report.
For example, report on sales by the hour for Fridays in the 3 months ending March 31 or sales by the hour for all days during the year. This report is very useful for determine staffing levels or setting your hours of operation.
Movement Report
This report rates the movement of everything in your store to one another. It's a list of all items in inventory with the top sellers listed first. Each item has a number showing its rank in the list.
Paid Outs
This report will print out a list of the paid outs that were done through the till. It will display the date, receipt number, amount paid out, the supplier paid and the cashier number of the cashier making the payment.
Period Sales
With Sixth Sense Cafe you get to set two periods (other than the daily, weekly or monthly periods already used) where you can track sales (periods A and B). These can correspond to a sale period or holiday period or any time span that you want to track. The period sales report will show you the quantity and dollar amounts for each period.
Print Sales Records
This report prints out your selected sales records. Relevant data from sales are printed, one line each, on your full page printer. If you are not printing receipts or keeping a copy of each receipt (using carbonless receipt paper) than this will give you a hard copy of your sales records.
Quantity Sold By Item
This report shows the quantity and dollar amount for each item sold during a particular period chosen by you. The report can be for any or all items picked for the period your have chosen.
Report Week/Month/For...
Reports for Week, Month or For..., show the sales for the previous week, month to date or any days chosen by you. (With the For... report you choose the start and end date of the report and all days including the start and end date are used for the report. You can choose any two dates, they don't have to be in the same week, month or year.)
The screen display of each report will show you the gross sales, tax amount and net sales for the day. The ten different types of tender are shown with the amount and percentage of total sales each tender represents. Any amounts paid out or received on account are shown. The amounts for refunds and discounts are shown. Also the number of customers, average sale per customer, number of items sold and average item price are shown.
When you print the sales report all of the above information is printed as well as the starting and ending value of your inventory, the amount for receiving of new inventory and the gross profit and margin for the week, month or period.
Sales Records
Any or all sales records in your data file can be brought up on screen for display. If you double click on any record you will see the cash register screen as it was during the original sale. From here you can modify the record, delete it or reprint it. Modifications can only be done by the manager or owner.
Suppliers
Sixth Sense Cafe keeps a list of all your suppliers and all the relevant information about each of them. With each supplier a list is automatically generated and displayed for each item that the supplier provides to you. Information on the supplier's agent is also kept.

When making orders with Sixth Sense Cafe, you can specify that an order be made based on a supplier. You can also compare sales by supplier.
System Preferences
Business Information
This is the relevant information on your business. Your business name, address, phone, fax, tax numbers, e-mail address and company logo are stored in system preferences. The name and address automatically get printed on receipts and your company logo will be printed on the 1/2, full page and invoice receipts.
Cashiers
Your list of cashiers is stored here. The list includes the full name, phone number and I.D. of each person making sales. This list can be printed out at any time.
Messages
In Messages 1 and 2 you will enter the messages which you want to appear on the customer’s receipts as a Header and a Footer. For example, you may want your hours of operation to appear at the top of the receipt as a Header. For the Footer you may wish to have a message like, “Have a Nice Day”. You may change this message to reflect special events coming up or holiday hours. Alpha
Message 3 is for another message you wish to have appear on the receipt. You may want to have a message like, “No Refunds Without a Receipt” or “Sale Starts ...” to appear on your receipts. This is only used on full page and half page receipts & not used with the receipt printer.
The last message, #4 is for a User - Defined Descriptor like sweetness, color, style., type. This descriptor may not apply to all your items but is available should you wish to use it. When you fill in the information on each of your inventory items you may enter an adjective into one or more of the descriptor fields or leave them blank if you choose. For example, you might want to use Color or Sweetness or Country of Origin as a descriptor. Then, when entering items such as wines into inventory you can identify the wine as red, white or blush using a Color field, put a number in a Sweetness field, or a name in a Country of Origin field.
The five fields listed at the bottom of the screen are the messages for entering the name of each page that is used to place an order. This makes it easier for the servers to locate a particular item on the menu as well as allowing you to separate a lunch item from a dinner item. You can select any name for the different pages, these are only a suggestion.

At the end of a cashier's shift you will want to do a till balance to verify the cashier's take for the day. With Sixth Sense Cafe there is no need to do arithmetic or use a calculator. Sixth Sense Cafe uses one screen entry for all the cashier's cash, credit cards, cheques, etc..

The cashier needs imply to count each monetary amount, and Sixth Sense Cafe will calculate how much it adds up to, then display what the cashier counted, what Sixth Sense believes should be there, and what the difference is.
The same is done for credit cards, store charges, paid outs, received on accounts, refunds and discounts. The reason for differences can be recorded in the comment field. Starting floats are automatically accounted for.
Custom Report
You can produce custom reports on any of the data from the till balances.
Displaying Balances
You can display any or all till balances on screen showing the cashier, float, end count, computer report, difference and comment.
Media Report
A media report will give you a summary of the cash, cheques, credit/debit cards, coupons, refunds, discounts, paid outs and received on account totals for all cashiers on any given day.
Servers and Managers
This section is for maintaining a database of information on the servers and employees for the restaurant. Add new employees, view employee records, use the time card, and view work schedule as recorded by the time card. Mangers can also view reports on all open tables and active servers.

Time Card
With Sixth Sense Cafe you are able to keep track of your employee’s hours of work and tips they report. Using the time card, as shown below, you record the starting and ending times for an employee’s workday.

Change Access
At any time during the operation of the program a person may sign on using their name and password. The access a person has in Sixth Sense Cafe is determined by their user level, which is set by the manager or owner.
Passwords are entered with the following touch screen:

Groups
Each employee is assigned to a group which will determine the level of access to the various parts of Sixth Sense Cafe. The groups include Owner, Manager, Supervisor and Cashier. The cashier has limited access, having only the capability of making sales, refunds, received on accounts and limited inquiries about the inventory, enough to provide proper service to a customer.
